7 Ways To Excel At Calling Leads

I love calling qualified leads! To me they are the easiest and most effective way to increase business. People have made fortunes from doing it and so can you. The key is to mentally prepare yourself and step out of the box of conventional thinking and doing.

Here are 7 ways to do that.

1. Call your leads when no one else is - During so-called "quiet" times

There are certain periods of the year, for example summer, that many will say is a slow time. And they're right ... because they say it's slow. And because they say it, they believe it and what they believe happens. Others will say it isn't slow... and they're right too. And THAT is what makes the difference between mediocrity and greatness!

Let me ask you this. If you had a regular business and you closed it down for 3 months in the summer, what would happen to the momentum, profitability and goodwill of the company? The answer is obvious. So why is it so many Distributors' take the summer off? Wouldn't the same thing likely happen?

So make the summer, and other so-called "quiet" times, a stellar time to be in the market and expanding your business. Unlike fall and winter, the field is clear... there is less competition, and you have more time to find, nurture and train your new downline.

2. Calling leads from a lead list is NOT cold calling!

If you’re a little nervous about calling, remind yourself you’re calling someone who has requested you do so. This is because they are looking for something and you might have the solution.

A cold call is calling someone you have never met and don’t know about. It’s like pulling a name randomly out of the phone book. So do yourself and them a favor... return their request as soon as possible and discover what that is.

3. Expect Positive Responses

People don't think what you think they think. If you start your call with the negative expectation that you will get a lot of resistance - the chances are you will! Why? Because you get what you expect!

People are mostly kind and receptive. Just like you, they're looking for ways to make their life easier, more fulfilling, etc. That's why they invited you to help them.

Again, change your thinking to one that your lead is expecting you to call.

4. Discover What’s Missing In Your Lead's Life

Whatever you do, don't get into the trap of thinking that it's all about "educating" or "giving them information". It's not. It's about allowing them talk in detail about what they want and why they want it.

Having this frame of mind is so important. See yourself as a problem solver... as someone who has potential solutions to the problems your leads are facing. How do you do you do that? By getting into Dialogue with them by

1. Asking questions
2. Listening without prejudging
3. Feeding back based on what you’ve heard them say.

Then you'll find every call you make will end with a positive result. Why? Because people love talking about themselves, and they will always feel good about you and listen to you... if you listen to them first!

5. Go Slow To Go Fast.

Spend time here helping you and your lead qualify each other. Ironically, the more time you spend, the faster you will build your business.

Relationships take time. If you don't have time when you call - when will you find time? THIS is the time to find out their 'Why'. Not later on. Your lead will give you all the time in the world. Why? Because they are talking about their favorite subject… themselves. Time just flies by.

6. Qualifying.

Did I say in #5, "helping you and your lead qualify each other"? Yes I did. The answers to your questions are just as much for your lead to think about... ponder and perhaps shift their beliefs over... as they are for you!

Contrary to a lot of conventional opinion, selling is not about qualifying your lead in the first 15 seconds. It's impossible to find out about anything from most people in 15 seconds and you'll lose more opportunities than you will gain if you take this attitude. Spend the time.

7. Don't Wait to Get Good

Most Distributors' wait to be good! As someone I know says, "1 degree of temperature can turn boiling water into steam". Raise yourself by one degree and you'll turn yourself into the star that's waiting to be released.

These 7 tips will help you get the most from your leads. So, take action and call NOW! The sooner you speak with people, the quicker you'll build your business and get the results you're looking for.

How To Excel in a Rock Band

The desire to be the best guitarist, fastest bass player, or loudest drummer in a rock band is a common ambition, although none of these qualities are necessary to become successful. So where does this competitive nature come from? I suspect it is derived from the great players who inspired us in the first place.

Take as an example, my friend the Legend Ned K who had a unique method of learning to play the guitar. He combined his lessons with a love of skydiving! The young Ned would jump out of the back of a plane alongside his guitar coach (of which there were many), and during the frenetic ride back to earth the lesson would take place. Naturally, there wasn't much time to learn everything before pulling the ripcord, and as a result; Ned K remains one of the fastest guitar players alive today!

It has been said though, that everybody these days plays guitar. So one way to get the gig is to learn an instrument that is less common and regularly in demand - like drums for example. But despite ambitions, to excel at any endeavour will take plenty of practice and a lot of hard work, and it is this hard work which is often overlooked.

Take as a further example of rugged determination a drumming friend of mine...

At the age of twelve, Keefy got a job parking cars at his local car showroom in a well to do part of Wirral. One day, stirred by the rhythms coming from a beat-up Ford Anglia's big end, he jumped out of the car leaving it where it was and immediately rushed home to resurrect his grandad's World War 2 drum kit which had been stowed away years earlier in the loft.

After mastering the rudiments on the ancient kit, Keefy decided he wanted to be a noted drummer and began a punishing practice regime in which he would play for hours on steel bin lids armed with a pair of lump hammers. Keefy says this was the secret to building the strength that allows him to play VERY LOUDLY! Naturally, when he returned to the World War 2 kit it didn't last very long. In fact, several kits later, it became apparent that something rather special was needed to endure the punishment metered out by the newly christened "Bad Boy" Keefy.

The invention of rack-mounted drums was the answer to Keefy's prayers (until then he hadn't been able to finish a gig without destroying his kit), and with a few modifications, plus the addition of some scaffolding poles, Bad Boy Keefy was ready to rock and roll!

The point is that no matter what your chosen instrument, it will take a great deal of practice and determination to master. And to become a cut above the rest often takes some lateral thinking and perhaps a different approach to the norm.

You may be wondering if any of this is true or simply a figment of my imagination? Well, you decide...

Online Marketing: Tips To Excel

If you're marketing a product or service online, you are in a humongous, often highly competitive market. The online marketing world can often be very tough - only the tough can survive! Here are a few tips to help you succeed and thrive in the internet marketing world.

Tip #1: Innovate

Offer your visitors and customers something that your competitors don't or can't offer. This could be anything from free shipping to just a free valuable e-book related to your industry. People are very mobile on the internet - if you don't give them good reason to stay on your website, they will quickly go to your competitor's site instead.

Tips #2: Track

One of the most powerful aspects of online marketing is the ability to do extensive tracking of customers in real time. With the right tracking software, it is very easy to know exactly where your customers came from, which ad they clicked on, which pages on your site they visited, which page converted them, how much that conversion cost you, etc.

With good tracking data, you can easily manage and adjust marketing efforts to maximize your profitability.

Tip #3: Leverage

If you want to have long term, dependable success, you need to leverage your traffic. Without leverage, your traffic can go up and down drastically, depending on your search engine rankings, or other factors.

There are two ways to leverage your traffic:

The first is by creating an email list. If you can get your visitors to signup for your email newsletter, then you can make sales to those visitors long after they have left your site. A well built list can become a powerful marketing resource over time, too.

The second way to leverage traffic is through an affiliate program. This way, instead of directly promoting your site, you promote your affiliate program. Once you recruit a good affiliate, they can bring you sales for years.

Ways to Excel In Dental School

Dental school is a four year process that involves nonstop learning. Here are a few ways that can help you excel in your studies.

Be sure that becoming a dentist is what you desire. Dental school is a very rigorous journey not unlike going through medical school. The first year can be a shock. Learning about dentistry is like learning a new language. You must buckle down and focus on adjusting to new vocabulary, terms and theories.

If you’re not sure if you want to become a dentist then there is no point in going through the motions. Adjusting to learning dentistry takes more than superior academic ability. It takes genuine interest.

If you’re rock solid about your decision to become a dentist then the best advice for excelling in dental school is to manage your study time well. This seems like a no-brainer but sometimes the most obvious advice is the one that is easily pushed aside.

Find the most effective ways for you to study. Some people like to block out their time. After classes and before they go to sleep they will spend four or five hours studying. If you have a problem concentrating after two or so hours then change your study habits. Spend an hour each morning on your studies, a couple of hours after lunch, and maybe another two hours in the evening. Find what works for you.

Get involved in extracurricular activities. Dental school is not your whole life. Find time to have a little fun. Spend time with friends or join a volunteer program. This will help balance your life and will actually improve your grades. Spending your whole life studying can start to become stale. You need to be refreshed when you hit the books so go out and have fun. Be sure to eat well and exercise.

Get a tutor if you’re falling behind. Not everyone can be great in all aspects of dental school. There are so many different classes, lectures and lab time that you cannot excel in every one of them. If you need some help in a subject, the smart way to go is finding a tutor. Take control of your grades before it’s too late.

A tutor will help you better grasp the material learned in class and can also provide advice on how to cope with life in dental school. They can tell you the best teachers, the hardest instructors and the easiest ways to study. Take advantage of peer tutors.

Another way to excel in dental school is to prepare well for your Board Exams and Clinical Exam. You will take your first Board Exam after your second year of dental school and in the fourth year you will sit for your second Board Exam as well as your Clinical Exam. These are the most important parts of dental school because passing the exams allows you to graduate and begin practicing dentistry.

Needless to say, you must study well for these exams. They will be a culmination of everything you have learned through your years in dental school. Be sure you feel prepared. Have a good night’s sleep and eat before you take the exams. These exams can last for many hours so gear up for a marathon.

Pretty soon all your hard work will pay off and you can finally practice dentistry or go on into a residency program. The skills you learned to help you excel in dental school are lifelong lessons that can be applied to any facet of your life.
