4 Ways to Excel at Social Networking
Quick social networking is a way to keep in groups of people together for marketing, organizational, or personal reasons. The network is made up of what are called ties and nodes, with the nodes being the individual user and the tie being the connection between them. Many people use it to keep family together, but mostly people use social networking for contacts outside their usual sphere for business and cultural reasons. Here are 4 ways to use it well.
1. Find a Group
It’s said that birds of a feather flock together. Make sure you find a group that suits your intentions, and take the time to check them out until you do. Once you do that, you can also find satellite groups that are similar to yours--for business purposes, it’s a good idea to check these out as well. Quick social networking should not be haphazard networking.
2. Establish Yourself
Connections are useless unless you are visible within them. Participate in the group and become well-known within it. Make sure you use good principles of etiquette on your quick social networking group the same as you would on any other.
3. Share and Share Alike
Sharing is just as important as simple participation. If others are sharing certain information, pipe in and share yours. This way you can develop new ideas with others, and brainstorm.
4: Offer Help
If people need something and you can provide it, do so. Use the social network for the benefit of all. Lurking will get you nowhere.
